April 2010 looks set to be the month when Sky goes 3D and a time the big guns will be entering the three dimensional market.
Some of the world’s largest consumer electronics manufacturers Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba and Philips are promising the wow factor with their new 3D ready TVs.
Panasonic will be releasing Full HD 3D TVs and Blu-rays while Philips will be taking us on a futuristic journey with their 21:9 ultra widescreen TV.
Kicking off with the first ever 3D sports broadcast – Arsenal v Man United on Jan 30th 2010; Sky has picked LG and its 3D 47 inch LD920 to show case the event.
The thought of experiencing 3D wizardry will be hard to resist, films, sports and games will be a jaw dropping experience.

It’s early days and details of the latest 3D displays, model numbers and full specifications on the 2010 models are yet to be released. No doubt when spring arrives with the launch of Sky’s 3D channels there will be plenty to read about. Best prices for a full HD 3D ready, TV comparison charts and reviews will be top of any one’s list when looking to buy a 3DTV.
April will be the time 3D can be experienced in pubs and Sky are planning regular 3D broadcasts in around 400 pubs across Britain. Sky 3D channels will include sports, movies, arts and game shows which will be available to domestic customers later in the year.
3D compatible HDTVs are sure to appeal to cinema goers who love the idea of achieving the same immersive experience at home. Although 3D content will be sparse in the early years new 3DTV models will be able to display 2D as well as 3D so both formats can be enjoyed.
To be part of the future of home entertainment with the latest telly revolution you will need a 3DTV and 3D glasses. These will be available for people’s living rooms sometime this year – official UK release dates yet to be announced along with prices for UK 3DTVs and model numbers.
